Todd Frazier is coming back to the New York Mets!

Hopefully he can help salvage what is left of this sinking and shortened Mets season.

Just a few short days ago, the Mets found themselves just one game under .500 by sweeping both games of a doubleheader facing the Yankees.

Everything has changed since last Friday. The Mets went on to lose the next three games facing the Yankees, and continued their losing streak by falling to the Miami Marlins this afternoon.

In a matter of days, the Mets now find themselves five games under .500 but only 2.5 games away from a wildcard playoff birth.

The Mets pitching staff is a roller-coaster ride between not knowing who is going to start from day to day, to their bullpen that still cannot hold a Mets lead.

Their offense is just as frustrating...They constantly get runners in scoring position, but they just can not score. I'm not going to bore you with the stats, but trust me...it's beyond frustrating.

That brings us to today...August 31st. Most people didn't even realize it due to the short season, but today was the trade deadline for Major League baseball.

The Mets went ahead and made a deal that no one saw coming. They made a trade with the Texas Rangers today to bring back Toms River native, Todd Frazier.

Frazier played for the Mets in 2018 and 2019, but went to play for the Rangers as a free agent after his 2-year contract with the Mets ended.

So Todd is coming back! He is a fan favorite. A great guy to have on your team. His energy, leadership, and the love for the game is contagious so hopefully he can give the Mets a kick in the ass they SO do deserve. The lineup shows so much potential...maybe he can bring something to the clubhouse

His stats are not Fernando Tatis Jr.-like, or Juan Soto-esque, but maybe he is the spark that the team needs. The Mets record is 15-20...They have 25 games to go.

Trust me....I'm not saying Todd is THE answer. We probably still won't make the playoffs this year...It is the Mets we are talking about after all. We've been down this road more than I can remember. However...
