While it appears likely that the Sixers will attempt to make some major changes this offseason, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the 76ers are expected to part ways with head coach Brett Brown, one of those changes will not be breaking up the pairing of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

ESPN's Sr. NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, today as a guest on the Keyshawn, JWill and Zubin Show on 97.3 ESPN said: "I think you'll see them to try and continue to build around Simmons and Embiid."

"I think the preference of this organization has been to keep them together," Wojnarowski continued.

"Try it with a new coach before you brake that group up. Neither is about to become a free agent and your about to lose them for nothing, that's not happening. There are other changes that could be made before you brake up a core like that."

Wojnarowski talked about how the Sixers have tried to rush things to help their two young stars, including trading for Jimmy Butler.

"They have rushed to try and speed this up around Simmons and Embiid," Wojnarowski stated..

The Sixers have made plenty of deals to try and improve the team around Simmons and Embiid, leaving some to wonder if the next step would  be to break the pairing up, how Wojnarowski doesn't see that being that case.

"You usually don't gt the kind of value back for those kind of stars," Wojnarowski explained.

Simmons missed the entire playoff season after knee surgery, but his reluctance to be a more aggressive part of the Sixers offense has been a major issue at times.

As for Embiid, he scored at least 26 points in every game of the series against the Celtics, with four straight double-doubles.  However, if that shows anything, its how hard it is to win by featuring a center in today's NBA.

Should be an interesting offseason for Elton Brand, if he in fact remains the team's GM, which seems likely, per the Athletic report, Brand recently had his 2021 option picked up and has good relationship with Sixers ownership.
